Snoring Inn policies
Terms and Conditions
The agreement between you and Snoring Inn when you enquire, book, or stay with us.
Last updated 20 September 2026Snoring Inn (PTY) Ltd
These terms apply to this website, to every booking made with us by any channel, and to every stay at any of our properties. By making a booking or staying with us you agree to them. Please read the Cancellation, Payment and Refund policies as well, because they form part of this agreement.
1. Who you are dealing with
Snoring Inn (PTY) Ltd is a family-run business operating four guest houses in northern KwaZulu-Natal. In these terms "we", "us" and "Snoring Inn" mean Snoring Inn (PTY) Ltd, and "you" means the person making the booking and everyone staying under it.

2. Making a booking
A booking is a request until we confirm it. We confirm in writing, by WhatsApp or email, with a reservation number.
- You tell us the property, the dates and how many people are staying.
- We quote a rate and tell you what is available.
- We hold the room provisionally for two days while you confirm.
- The booking is confirmed once a 50% deposit reflects in our account.
- The balance is due on arrival, before keys are handed over.
Every hold has a release time, and we tell you what it is when we make it. If you have told us you will arrive and pay on site by a stated time and you have not arrived by then, the room is released.
3. Short stays
Short stays charged by the hour are available at some properties, at the manager’s discretion. They cannot be booked on this website or by phone in advance. They are walk-in only, on quiet weekdays, never at night and never over a weekend, and never where it would put a paying overnight guest into a room that has not been cleaned.
4. Rates
The rate we quote you at the time of booking is the rate you pay. Rates are per room per night unless we say otherwise, and they can change at any time before your deposit is received. Breakfast is included only where the quote says so. Rates quoted through Booking.com or a travel agent are set on that channel and may differ from our direct rate.
5. Arrival and departure
Late arrivals are normal for us and we will accommodate them, but tell us in advance so somebody is expecting you. Our reception stays staffed at night and the gate is watched. If your plans change while you are on the road, phone the property directly.
Guests must be registered at check-in. We may ask for identification. This is a legal requirement for a guest register, not a formality.
6. Your room
We allocate rooms, and we reserve the right to move you to another room of the same standard, or to another Snoring Inn property nearby, if we have to. We will tell you before you arrive wherever possible, and we will not charge you more than you were quoted.
When one property is full we will offer you a room at one of the others and send the location to your phone. That is an offer, not an obligation on you.
7. House rules
These apply at every property, to every guest, and to anyone you bring with you.
- No smoking in the rooms. We have zero tolerance for this and you will be charged for deep cleaning.
- Alcohol is to be consumed behind closed doors only. Drunken behaviour will not be tolerated.
- All loud music stops at 22:00.
- Please respect the property, the linen, the fittings and the fixtures. Do not damage or tear towels and bedding.
- Visitors who are not registered guests do not enter the rooms. They may use the yard and the visitor bathroom.
- Room keys stay with you and are handed back at check-out.
- Our staff are to be treated with respect. This is not negotiable.
8. Right of admission
We reserve the right of admission. We may refuse a booking, refuse entry, or ask a guest to leave without a refund where there is misconduct, abuse of staff or other guests, damage to the property, or a breach of the house rules.
We do not accommodate anyone on a promise to pay later. Payment or a confirmed deposit comes first, every time, for everyone.
9. Damage, loss and missing items
You are responsible for damage to the room and for items that go missing from it during your stay. We will charge the replacement cost, and where the damage is serious we will report it. Items that have gone missing from our rooms before include kettles, towels, bedding, showerheads, cutlery, gas bottles and room keys, which is why some amenities are no longer provided as standard.
Please report anything broken or not working as soon as you notice it, rather than at check-out. We would far rather fix it while you are still here.
10. Our liability
Vehicles and their contents are parked at your own risk. We are not liable for loss of or damage to your belongings except where the loss is caused by our own negligence. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
11. Bookings made through Booking.com or a travel agent
Where you book through Booking.com, a travel agency or a corporate travel desk, that channel’s booking, cancellation and payment terms govern the booking itself. Our house rules and conduct terms govern your stay.
12. Companies, groups and contract accounts
Companies and repeat corporate clients can be set up on an account and invoiced rather than paying at the desk. Account applications, credit terms and purchase order requirements are agreed with management in advance. Group bookings and block bookings across several rooms are confirmed by management only, and larger blocks may be subject to their own deposit and notice terms, which we will tell you in writing at the time.
13. If something goes wrong
Speak to the person on duty at the property first. Most things are fixed in minutes. If it is not resolved, contact our bookings manager on 063 644 4444 or email snoringinn@gmail.com. We would rather hear it from you during your stay than read it in a review afterwards.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published here on the day you book is the version that applies to your booking.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other law that applies to you.
